Finally I made it into the white house... unfortunatelly it was raining so we got really wet, because we had to wait outside in line.. and then were some girls from my group late, so we had to wait longer... First they checked us on the list (first problem: the sirname of a girl of my group was misspelled... so we had to wait again... then we had to go in line again for this "airport-check" and then we could finally go inside!! But we weren't allowed to bring anything though, only an umbrealla, a wallet, a cell phone which we HAD to turn off and keys... Unfortunately it was really crowed and busy inside, but we took our time and looked at the pictures of several presidents and family very well... then we looked outside the window and gazed at the beautiful garden... the fun thing though was that we also saw up to the fence where all the tourists were, that looked at the White House!! :D
Then we entered the first interessting room, the Vermeil Room, which has a variety of functions. There are portraits of recent first ladies and an extensive collection of silver. And it was also used as a billiard room. Then we saw the Library which contains a lot of books.
After that we gazed at the China Room which contains pieces from china and glass used by the presidents. Then we went upstairs to the East Room, where this nice sectret service guy told us something about the white house and a picture which is in the white house, since they built it. Anyway then we walked through the green (once it was Thomas Jeffersons dining room), blue (the presidents use this room to receive guests) and red room and landed in our last room, the state dining room.. And then, after touching and looking at everything we had to leave the building! :( Unfortunately we saw only a couple rooms since the Obama family was at home (they make a smaller tour then). And then we took some pictures in front of the white house, but my friend took them with her cell phone and she can't download them, so unfortunately I can't show you any pictures this time! :( And of course there were again some strange tourists in front of the white house who yelled something against Obama... However!
I hope you believe me that I really went inside, because this time I can't prove it!! ;P
